In a media event this week, Apple released an iMac with a remote control, an iPod with video capabilities and a new iTunes that allows you to purchase videos. This means you can now purchase a TV show episode that aired the night before for $1.99. Sounds like a good deal, but what exactly do you get for $1.99 and how does it compare to a TV show you might be able to download using BitTorrent for free? Well, it just so happens that although we have TiVO in our home, I accidentally deleted the first show of the new Desperate Housewives season before my wife could get to watch it. So I went on and got it through BitTorrent one day before Apple announced the new iTunes. I couldn’t help but to download the same show from the Itunes Store to compare them side by side.

Being unable to send Mail while on the road can be one of the most annoying parts of traveling. Most people don’t know why they can send emails from their home but not when they are at a friends house or at a hotel. This guide will help you send emails when you are on the road. Hopefully.
Most standard email accounts are based on the POP protocol. It uses different mail servers for sending and receiving emails. The problems lies when with the Outgoing Mail Servers because the Internet Service Provider(ISP) being used requires the use of their own server, which is not always the one you have set up in your Mail Application. Some even require a username and password.
So how are we to send emails when we’re on the road? Well, it’s just a matter of finding out the required Outgoing Mail Server. Peace of cake.

Today is my Birthday. I turn 33. The year Jesus started his three year revolution. It’s safe to say I won’t be changing the world as much as He did (the calendar system is based on him) but I’ll try my best.
Today we’ll do the same thing we always do, try to take over the world!

Since we where unable to find an available local camping site, we set up tent in our own backyard. Turned the BBQ grill into a fire pit and busted out the marsh mellows. Ahhhh, nothing like a camp site with wireless internet!
Check out my Amazon Whishlist if you MUST share the love.

The French Crepe Company is one of those special L.A. places. It’s become a family tradition for us, every time we have visitors staying with us we have to have brunch at the Crepe Company in the original LA Farmer’s Market. The LA Farmer’s Market has tons of fresh produce from local farmers plus a wide range of little restaurants that has an international food court type of feeling. And now there even is a new open mall area called The Grove right next to it that has an Apple Store. You can’t beat that.
The French Crepe Co. menu is split into two categories. Savory(salty) and Sweet crepes. But you can pretty much pick and choose anything that goes inside from eggs or strawberries to chocolate. Yum. We usually get one savoty and one sweet and just split to get the best of both worlds.

Although I usually have a strong brand loyalty (Apple, Sony, TiVo), this week I’m putting to test one of my favorite brands, Netflix. Yes, I’m doing the unthinkable, putting my Netflix account on hold to try Blockbuster Online. Although I still have a bad taste in my mouth from Blockbuster’s late fees over the last two decades, I’m ready to give their online store a try. At first glance Blockbuster Online seems almost identical to Netflix’s core features. Unlimited rentals for a flat fee, have three at a time, star ratings, customer reviews, huge catalog of DVDs etc. Why would I switch you might ask? For one thing it’s $3 cheaper. Not reason enough if their service is not as good as Netflix but a good plus. Second, 2 free rentals a month at my local store for those immediate cravings you might have to see something NOW as opposed to LET’S SEND SOME MOVIES BACK, UPDATE OUR QUEUE AND HOPE WE STILL WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE WHEN WE GET IT IN THE MAIL A WEEK FROM NOW. So here I am, I’ve put my Netflix account on hold and giving Blockbuster a try. I heard they censor movies in the same way Walmart censors their CDs so I will have to put that to the test by renting Pulp Fiction (the ultimate test).
P.S. I am referring to Blockbuster’s Online store that offer DVDs via mail like Netflix, not their brick and mortar stores that offer the flat fee rentals.

The web has become a great place to find free and immediate access to fonts of all kinds. Some good, some not so good. But, with a few clicks it’s very easy to find out if your logo type will work in a particular font. Here’s a list of a few free font sites I visit when working on a new project. My favorite one, DaFont. Organized by style, searchable and allows you to do a custom preview of the fonts with your own text (see image) right on the browser.

My favorite DaFont feature, the custom preview.
