I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Death is something so hard to deal with because it hits you so hard and it's so hard to accept. Always remember the good times, for your loved ones will always live in your heart. I moved from the USA to Australia about 2 years ago and during that time my Grandpa had a second stroke. The second stroke left him wheelchair bound and it gave my whole family a horrible scare. He is still alive, however the hard part is being so far away from him. I lost my Grandmother long ago and still miss her greatly. However I remember the happiness and love she brought to my life and so she lives on. So you have my empathy during these trying times.
