Wallace and Gromit

Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit is easily one of my favorite movies of the year. No kidding. I was introduced to Wallace & Gromit by my art school roommate Jonathan Richter, a stop animation genius himself who has made a fantastic marriage of traditional techniques with computer animation. If you are not familiar with Wallace & Gromit I encourage you to visit the Aardman Animation Studios website to check out some of their work. These are also the guys behind Chicken Run and Creature Comforts. There has been three short films with Wallace & Gromit but Curse of the Were-Rabit is the first feature film starting the two.

I really wanted to go see this the other night, but I think it had kids movie written all over it for Steve. He opted for Nicky Cage and Lord of War…he liked it…it was too hard for me to watch…lots of violence. After we left I told him I get to pick the next one.

  • I’d highly recommend it too :) but still feel Chicken Run was a smidge better! Even then it was really cool.

  • do you hear about their warehouse burning to the ground? apparently they lost everything. pretty terrible news.

In a related story, “Aardman Studios Burns” and a company spokeman says Wallace & Gromit’s “entire history” (all the props and sets from previous films) were lost in the blaze. A big weekend at the box office and a big reminder to keep things backed-up offsite.

I’ve been waiting for some time to watch this! I am stoked, glad the reviews are favorable!

Yeah – Wallace and Gromit are the best! This roommate fellow of yours seems straight up! When’s he going to do a film? Probably never, the big loser.
