Seat Guru

This December is a very special one because my wife and I will be celebrating our 10th year anniversary which in LA counts as double. To celebrate we managed to book some last minute tickets to Paris in France, my wife’s dream vacation. She’s a happy camper right now and she’s as excited as a kid in a candy bar. But my first thought after getting the tickets was, this is going to be a long trip and our laptop batteries will not last. And even though the airlines let you select your airplane seats online there’s no information of wether it has a power plug or not. Power plugs are rare and few among coach seats and I need to be able to do some work and watch some movies. This is where Seat Guru comes in. As you can see by the screen shot above, Seat Guru lets you view which seats have power outlets and weather or not there are “in seat” tv screens. All this according to the specific plane model. They have a huge database of planes organized by airlines. We where able to move our non powered seats to seats that will hopefully give us some powerbook juice. All we need now is one of those fancy adapters and we’re set. Don’t you just love the web?

Congrats! My wife and I went to Paris for our 10th Anniversary as well. It’s a bit cold in December, but beautiful! I highly reccomend Hotel du Champ de Mars. It’s near the Eiffel Tower. It’s on a pedestrian street that becomes an outdoor market every morning. It’s only a short walk from the “Ecole Militaire” metro stop.
There are a couple of pictures of the hotel and street, rue Cler, on my website if you’re interested. As well as other photos showing how bundled up we got the night we walked down the Champs-Elysees…

Congrats! 10 years! Neither of you look that old to be married 10 years. You must have gotten married in your teens, but I know that’s not the case. Anyway, thanks for the heads-up on the cool site… and I was thinking of buying an extra battery for cross-country flights. Maybe I won’t need to.
