My wife and I went to Paris for our 10th Anniversary as well. It's a bit cold in December, but beautiful! I highly reccomend Hotel du Champ de Mars. It's near the Eiffel Tower. It's on a pedestrian street that becomes an outdoor market every morning. It's only a short walk from the "Ecole Militaire" metro stop. There are a couple of pictures of the hotel and street, rue Cler, on my website if you're interested.
