The PowerBook is Going

finding the hotel in the map

We’re finally in Paris. And after much debating the PowerBook came with us too. Here I am trying to find our Hotel in the Map. We ended up picking La Manufacture, a little hotel in a very central area surrounded by lots of cafés and bistros and right next to a subway stop.

planning the days

Here’s Lilia planning our days in a very efficient way.

plane trip

I almost look like I am following along :-) but don’t be fooled. Notice that I’m not using my laptop. That’s because I made a huge mistake, I took off the tip off my power adapter right before I left. Yes I know, painful. Surprisingly enough, we where able to watch some Lost episodes, listen to some music and my battery never ran out. I love this 12″.

lost in the train

Our welcome to Paris was a disorientation in the Subway system when our train stopped and started going reverse. It turns out RER B has 4 segments, two on each side of a main junction. But they fail to list that on almost every map we saw. We finally figured it out and moved along. It took us 3 hours to get to our hotel from the airport.

We finally reached our destination, La Manufacture near the Place D’Italie. We didn’t really know what to expect from this hotel but where pleasantly surprised by the hotel and it’s location. I learned about La Manufacture in a book called Hip Hotels: Budget.

hotel room

The rooms are tiny but very modern and clean.

after a nap, we went out for a bite at a nearby bistro.
