Let’s face it, Mac applications are cool. Even when the task is as geeky as editing html files by hand, we do it with style. There are many apps out there that do this job on the Mac, and I will probably be in the eternal hunt for the perfect one, but for now skEdit [...]
LapCop is a laptop anti-theft software that helps you recover your stolen laptop. When LapCop detects a new network setting it send a silent email to your specified email address. If your laptop gets stolen, authorities can use this info to track down exactly where it is. LapTop rocks, but now comes Undercover, the next [...]
Could this be true? A device that records video directly to the iPod from any video source like my TiVO? The guys at Ato have announced iSee, a device that allows you to record from external sources straight into the iPod. Not only that, it allows you to watch videos in it’s 3.5″ screen bringing [...]
Acquisition, my favorite peer to peer application now has integrated support for BitTorrent. I’ve enjoyed Acquisition for many years now, it’s in my opinion the poster child of the Mac OS X interface. I’m glad I don’t need to use another application for BitTorrents. I can now keep all my downloads in one enjoyable app.

As you might know already, the new iMacs ship with a new application called Front Row that allows you to view all your Digital Life in full screen mode a la TiVo. The thing is, as of today it only comes with the new iMacs. It’s not available for purchase or with any other computer, [...]

It would be ideal if they release a smaller one for the road but let’s not torture ourselves here waiting for that one. In the meantime, how can we make the [...]
I didn’t realize how much I miss browsing through my cd collection until I downloaded this cool little app called CoverFlow. It’s weird, it really feels like I’m at a thrift store browsing through albums. The app is very quick and responsive even with my 8,000 song collection of music. My only complain though is [...]
The correct title should have been “I got a new Computer”, but since this 12″ Powerbook is so small and so light, I really feel like I have a new toy. After a few weeks of MISERABLY SLOW COMPUTING due to having only half my real RAM, Mosaic was kind enough to hook me up [...]
It’s official. I am one of the many affected by the Lower Memory Slot Failure on Powerbooks. My wife’s iBook feels faster than my Powerbook. How sad. I’m on the phone talking to an Apple representative right now. The Tech support lady said they are not aware of this being an issue and asked where [...]
John Grubber’s Daring Fireball has published a hilarious short story of the sad fate of the Metal Interface that used to permeate Mac OS X. Truly this is comedy for the Mac Geek. Warning, strong language.
